• Hi all just to let you all know that the new NLP Practitioner is well underway and we have just had an amazing module looking at Ericksonian Language and the world of vagueness.  I think that this module is always pivotal in the group understanding the real power of NLP and they get to see in action all the amazing changes that happen as a result of excellent trance!!!!

Erickson offers us such a wonderful example of how to use language to create change and how to tell stories that motivate and captivate us to want to change....now!

I have introduced the group to Caroline Myss who teaches us about Archetypes and the world of the collective unconscious, I Kid you not, if you study the world of Caroline Myss you have such an excellent understanding of the world of archetypes that will allow you to filter the world in a completely different way.  Her pioneering work on archetypes is truly amazing.  We all have 12 archetypes that work with us in light or shadow, 8 we choose, however 4 are universally shared, they are Child, Victim, Saboteur and Prostitute, they all make perfect sense. Your child can be:- universal child, child wounded, child eternal, child free etc, you chose the one most fitting to you, the prostitute card is not that we sell our wares, but we sell parts of our soul, very interesting, if you stay in a job for the money and you hate it, or you stay in a relationship when you know it is not for you, these are examples of the archetype at play.  I think everyone knows about victim and saboteur, they somewhat speak for themselves.   The other 8 you pick from a deck of 178, and cast around a wheel of contexts. This work is based on divination therefore there is no real logic to it, however an amazing experience.  I work with these all the times in my practice as they allow clients to really see a narrative as to what is happening.  Caroline Myss has hundreds of books and CD's -check out Sacred Contracts.

    thanks

  • Hi all the next programme for the NLP Practitioner course gets under way in Sept 2011, which will be here before we know it.

If you are interested in taking charge of your life and making some terrific changes then this is definitely the course for you.  Over 7 months we take you through the full NLP syllabus and it is a journey all about you, so it has to be worthy of the investment.

  • This is one of the most powerful frames that we use in our teaching and being of NLP, however it can take some time before the principles of P=P come into force.  I think, if i am honest, it took me several years before I truly got it!  and then it was only thanks to the brilliance of Dr Suzi Strang who made it so believable and taught me a very valuable lesson.  I had been stuck with a problem that was very easy for me to blame the other party and for my to be the victim, (recognise the pattern?)  When I heard, for what purpose have you generated this in your life, Kevin??  It did not feel good as it made me have to take responsibility, which was a complete reframe on the experience and changed the outcome in a heartbeat.  Some of the themes of Perception is Projection are as follows:-

    PERCEPTION IS PROJECTION

What we recognise outside ourselves is what we are inside, otherwise how would we know what it was.

So what you see outside you is really you.

The moment a projection or judgement about someone or something else comes

    consciousness, it is your perception.

Remember, what other people do is what other people do; what you do with it is all yours.

People in your life will act the way you unconsciously want them to act.

You get what you focus on, so focus on what you want and project on to others the way you want to be yourself!

I think it is very useful to meditate on this and remember the impact that you have and can  create.

  • How does it feel to cross the threshold from knowing to  not knowing?  It can be really daunting to make the step and work in new uncharted territory's.  Our bodies tend to give us signals of congruency or in-congruency, however it is really easy to ignore and carry on regardless.  Not everyone according to the Myers Briggs(MBTI) is Intuitive  and research puts it down to 35% intuitive and 65% Sensing, so the majority disregard their intuitive responses.  What we need to remember is that intuition according to Aristotle comes first, otherwise how would we know that black is not green?  ( testing!)
What can be helpful in allowing us to cross the threshold is to think about how we feel about a step into the unknown and how does that feel somatically. how would you describe it, and what does it feel like to step outside into the unknown?   What would you need as a resource to enable you to cross over into the unknown?

have a look at this NLP exercise

    CROSSING YOUR THRESHOLD

One of the reasons, which might prevent us from taking that next step forward, is our level of fear about the unknown. This exercise allows you to explore safely, develop strategies for managing yourself, and discover ways where you can explore to maximum effect.

    1. Identify a large challenge that is ahead of you. It may be something that you have been putting off. It will certainly be something that will take you into uncharted waters.

    1. Mark out a line on the floor. This is your dividing line between the Knowing and the Not Knowing of this challenge.

    1. Notice how much space you give to your Not Knowing area. Make it as big as you like, extending out beyond the walls and out to the edges of the town and beyond that if you want to.

    1. Notice your levels of wellbeing as you expand this space.

    • Were there any moments when your sense of wellbeing increases or decreases?

    • Is there a point when the size of the Not Knowing territory becomes really uncomfortable? Before you readjust the space to become more comfortable, take a moment to notice what exactly was creating the discomfort. What were you thinking about it?

    1. Walk up to the line and take notice of the strength of your Not Knowing signal. If it is very weak, it may be because the challenge is actually not a difficult one after all. Consider a different challenge and test your signal again. You want it good and strong?

    1. Each learning task requires a blend of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual learning. So now establish 4 spots this side of the line, and for each one identify someone who is excellent in this form of learning.

    1. Step into each spot and listen to the advice they have to offer you.

    1. Return to your central position and feel the presence of each of your mentors. From this position, identify a safe spot on the other side which is accessible and on which you can stand once you have crossed.

    1. Attach a lifeline to this side of the line to let yourself know that you can easily return should you wish to.

    1. Stand back and identify the resources you need to cross the line. Go to these places where you already have these resources, re-access them and bring them to the line.

    1. Now walk across the line to your safe spot. If you have any difficulty in crossing, check out if you need additional resources.

    1. From this safe position, notice if you need any other resources to step out further. Gather them as required.

    1. Now notice if there are any areas you want to avoid. Approach them and gather any information you need. For example what additional resources do you need? You may find on closer inspection that the area is as bad as you thought.

    1. Cross back over your line, bringing with you all your new understanding.

    1. Finally, identify a point five years from now. Take with you your new understanding about travelling the Unknown to this point 5 years from now. Once there, notice now what it feels like to be such an excellent traveller and Learner.

  • Have just been listening to Caroline Myss Sacred Contracts and her wisdom blows me away, the more i learn about her philosophy the more I can not not believe in divination.  Her uncanny brilliance with the English Language is divine!!  I must insist that everyone listens to her teachings and introduces themselves to her mystical world.
I have used with great success in my teachings, her Archetype cards and clients and students really get the message, so clear and undeniable. see www.myss.com

    enjoy

  • Just had some fabulous results from using the 6 step reframe technique with a client who was going for a senior appointment this week, the simplicity of this exercise is just unique and never ceases to work!!!

see below for the exercise.  Good luck

    SIX-STEP REFRAME SCRIPT

    1. Access Behaviour: (Name) , I’d like you to ask the part of you responsible for (the behaviour) if it’s willing to communicate with me now with a visible body movement. (wait for signal)

    2. Set Up Signal: Let’s refer to you as part X, and I want to thank you for signalling me now.

    3. Discover and Acknowledge Benefits: Part X, I want to acknowledge you for always having acted in (name’s) best interest and for having provided benefits for them in the past.  We’re here to assist (name) in creating additional choices for her/his life now.  Are you willing to reveal your positive intention?

If “Yes” - Thank you for your willingness to help, and what is your intention? . . . Thank you for your positive intention. And we sincerely appreciate your purpose.

If “No” - How are you helping (name) when you get him/her to behave in this way?

    4.  Creating Choices: (Name) , can you think of another part in your life that has helped you do a new and exciting and satisfying behaviour?  Can you take part X to that creative part of you now and have part X and creative part come up with at least 3 additional choices of behaviour that will provide you with equal or greater benefit?  When you have those 3 additional choices signal me with a visible body movement. Thank you.

    5. Congruency Check: Now, (name) , are you willing to use one of these new choices on the next occasion when you would have used the old behaviour in the past?  Thank you.

    6. Ecological Check: Now, (name) , go inside and check for any other parts which might object to adopting these additional choices.  If so, will those parts signal with a visible body movement now?  Thank you. (If signals, repeat Step 3 acknowledging the objecting part and create additional choices agreeable with the creative part, part X and any objecting parts.)

    7.  Future Pace & Test: Now, (name) , can you imagine a time in the near future where you would have reason to use these additional choices?  Step right into the situation and experiencing this fully now?  As I count to three, you will open your eyes, knowing you have fully integrated all these choices.  1-2-3.
